What it replaced

The morning was two hours of reading before any decision.

Every company we run produced its own trail: leads in one tool, tasks in another, meeting notes in a notebook, invoices in a third, and a founder assembling the picture by hand each morning. Nothing was wrong with any single tool. The cost was the person doing the integration.

Akovex is the shape we wrote once and let each company wear differently. The rule that made it work: nothing ships to a client that has not run on our own revenue first. If it breaks, it breaks on us, on a Tuesday, and we fix it before anyone else sees it.

What failed first

A migration left a dozen queries pointing at the old store.

A database migration went through cleanly, and a dozen queries kept reading from the store that no longer updated. Nothing errored; the numbers just went quietly stale. An audit caught it, not a user. Since then every deploy ships with a rollback that has been rehearsed on a clean machine, and the restore time is written down next to it. That rule now applies to every client install.
